CARAMELLA ESSEN
Cookie policy
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website can store in your browser. It can, for example, keep a secure login active between page visits.
2. Why do we use cookies?
We do not set our own analytics or advertising cookies. Google Maps loads only after you accept it and may use cookies under Google’s policies. Accept and Decline are both remembered for 180 days. Decline keeps Google Maps off. The administration area uses a necessary security cookie after a successful login. We do not use Wix or Google Analytics.
3. Cookie overview
caramella_admin — First-party cookie for authenticated administrators. Keeps the administration session active for up to 14 days and is deleted on logout. HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict and Secure over production HTTPS. It is not set when browsing the public website.
caramella_cookie_notice — Remembers your Accept or Decline choice for 180 days. Set only after your selection. Contains a versioned preference, no visitor ID. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure over production HTTPS.
caramella_challenge / caramella_settings — Necessary, random references for email-code verification during admin login or credential changes. Each expires after 10 minutes. HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict and Secure over production HTTPS. Passwords and email codes are never stored in these cookies.
These cookies serve the requested preference or authentication function under § 25(2)(2) TDDDG. Accept permits Google Maps; Decline permits only necessary cookies. Neither choice enables our own advertising or analytics. You can withdraw permission for future map loads at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Cookies already set by Google can be removed in your browser.
caramella_theme — Remembers the light or dark theme you choose for one year. Set only when you use the theme switch. Without a saved choice, the website follows your device settings. Contains no visitor identifier. Delete it in your browser to follow your device again.
4. Your options
You can reopen the notice through Cookie settings in the footer and delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Deleting the acknowledgement cookie makes the notice appear again. Blocking the administration cookie prevents the admin login from working. The public menu and gallery remain available.
The contact page offers Google Maps, loaded only after your permission. When the map loads, your browser connects to Google and transmits technical information, including your IP address. Google’s privacy and cookie policies apply. Social platforms are accessed through external links. We update this policy if the website’s technology changes.
